This professional-grade riveting tool is built for consistent, factory-quality results on AK-type builds. It installs all front and rear trunnion rivets, center supports, and scope rails with precision and repeatability.
(Note: It does not install trigger guard rivets.)
The main ram and arm are machined from 4140 alloy steel and fully heat treated for strength and longevity. The single captured ram ensures perfect alignment and eliminates side-to-side movement while forming rivet heads. Its reach allows access to even the rear rivets on underfolder and side-folder trunnions.
The rivet head supports and dimpling tools are modeled after proven aircraft-industry tooling for flawless, repeatable dimples. The stepped dimple design prevents over-pressing and protects the receiver surface from visible marks when installing swell-neck rivets.
The rounded rivet supports eliminate the dents and distortions often caused by small flat blocks or crude fixtures.
The included long riveting fixture follows the same proven principle as Plinker’s long rivet jig but refined for better precision and visibility. It allows you to see the rivet head as it’s being formed—so you can verify perfect shape and alignment before removing the receiver.
This setup is also the best way to install the center support rivet, applying force directly in line with the rivet to avoid rail crushing and ensure clean, uniform heads. It may take a bit longer than hammering, but the end result is far superior.
