12 mm × 1.25 tap for cleaning or chasing the gas piston threads in the bolt carrier when fitting a new gas piston. Made from high-speed steel (HSS) for long tool life and consistent cutting performance.

Purpose: chase/clean gas piston threads in bolt carriers for proper piston fitment
Use with a tap wrench; apply cutting oil and cut slowly to avoid chip build-up
Designed for repeatable shop use

Usage / Notes

Run the tap straight and slow; back out frequently to clear chips and prevent binding.
Use suitable cutting oil for best finish and tool life.
Intended to clean/chase existing threads — do not attempt to cut a full new thread in grossly damaged carriers without proper setup.
