21.5" Yugo M72 7.62X39 US Non-Chrome Barrel

Yugo M72 Non Chrome Lined RPK Barrel 21.5" 14-1lh threaded muzzle. 1 in 10 twist.

These are made from 4150 steel and have the handguard retainer cuts and the extractor clearance cuts as well as the cooling fins.

Stamped USA 7.62 Gas port is NOT drilled. Barrel is in the white. 

 As of 5/9/25 AK-Builder.com is now able to offer our M72 RPK button rifled barrels 100% manufactured in house!  In 2023 we acquired new equipment that gave us the ability to produce our own barrel blanks from raw material.  We also purchased new machines for turning barrel profiles and chambering. Updating our older +12 year old machines allowed us to hold tighter, more consistent tolerances.  It also helps us be more efficient and provide quicker large volume production runs.  Having these machines not only lowers our product costs, but in turn passes these savings on to our customers.

Our M72 barrels are made from 41v50 crmov steel.  We drill, ream, and button each blank in house.  Then, we send it out to our heat treater for Vacuum Stress Relief.  Vacuum Stress Relief lacks atmosphere in the furnace which prevents scale from forming during the heat treatment.  If stresses aren’t relieved by thermal processing, then parts are more likely to become distorted while they are in application. The greater dimensional stability imparted by stress relieving helps components hold their tolerances when they are in use.
